You can explore world landmarks and natural wonders, and experience places like museums, arenas, restaurants, and small businesses with Street View. You can use Street View in Google Maps and theStreet View gallery.

Get to Street View in Google Maps

To get Street View photos, you can search for a place, drop a pin, tap on a place marker, or use the Street View layer.

Search for a place or drop a pin

  1. On your Android phone or tablet,open the Google Maps app Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (1).
  2. Search for a place or drop a pin on the map.
    • To drop a pin, touch and hold a place on the map.
  3. At the bottom, tap the place name or address.
  4. Scrolland select the photo labeled "Street View" or select the thumbnail with a Street View icon Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (2).
  5. When you’re done, at the top left, tap Back Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (3).

  1. On your Android phone or tablet,open the Google Maps app Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (4).
  2. Tap on a place marker.
  3. At the bottom, tap the place name or address.
  4. Scrolland select the photo labeled "Street View."
    • You can also select the thumbnail with a Street View icon Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (5).
  5. When you’re done, atthe top left,tap Back Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (6).

Use Street View Layer

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (7).
  2. At the top, tap LayersUse Street View in Google Maps - Android (8) Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (9)Street View.
  3. Blue lines on the Map indicate Street View coverage. Tap on any blue line to enter Street View.

Find street level imagery from other dates

You can find street level imagery taken at different times from the Street View archives and other contributors. For example, you can explore how your neighborhood has changed over time.

Important: Historic imagery isn't available for every place that has Street View.

  1. On your mobile device or tablet, open the Google Maps app Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (10).
  2. Tap Layers Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (11).
  3. Select Street View, then tap Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (12).
  4. Tap on any blue line.
  5. Tap the "See more dates" link. Not all locations on Google Maps have this link.
  6. At the bottom, scroll and select an image in the carousel.
  7. When you’re done, at the top left, tap Close Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (13).

Share a Street View image

To share a Street View image, tap the screen. Then tap More Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (14) Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (15) Share.

Explore Street View

  • To explore in Street View:drag your finger on the screen or tap the compass.
  • To move:tap the arrows or double-tap the image in the direction you want to go.
  • For a wider view and change to landscape mode:turn your device sideways.
  • To zoom in:pinch open on the screen.
  • To zoom out:pinch closed on the screen.

Explore split-screen Street View

Switch from a full-screen Street View image, to a split-screen view that also displays a small map.

  • On the Street View image, at the bottom right, tap the Split-screen arrows Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (16). The split-screen view shows a small map at the bottom of the screen.
    • To zoom in a map:pinch open on the screen.
    • To zoom out:pinch closed on the screen.
    • If you select any named point of interest on the smaller map:the map recenters immediately and new imagery loads for the best view of that place.
    • If you tap any blue line on the smaller map:the map recenters immediately.

Preview directions in Street View

Important: To get directions in Street View, enter a destination and tap Directions Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (17).

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, to view detailed directions, pull up the bottom window.
  2. If a preview is available for a step, a photo shows. To get to Street View for the step you want, tap the photo.
    • To get to the next step in the route, at the bottom, pull left.
    • To get to the previous step, at the bottom, pull right.
    • To exit Street View, at the top left, tap the back arrow Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (18).

Report a Street View issue

To report an image that should be censored or can be found offensive:

  1. Locate the image.
  2. Click MoreUse Street View in Google Maps - Android (19)Use Street View in Google Maps - Android (20)Report a problem.
  3. Select the issue and clickSubmit.
  4. We'll review your report promptly.
