How to take a double exposure with the Polaroid Go camera? ›

On the display that normally shows you how many photos you have left, you will see a blinking '1'. You can now take your first exposure by pressing the red shutter button. The display will then blink '2'. Press the red shutter button to take your second exposure.

To start, double press the flash button on the top of the Polaroid Go camera. Now you'll see the number 1 in the display window. This is how you know you're in double exposure mode. If you'd like to disable flash, you can simply press the flash button once.

To adjust the exposure settings on your Polaroid Go camcorder, simply press the EV button and use the arrow buttons to increase or decrease the exposure level as desired. Keep in mind that lower exposure values let in less light, resulting in darker photos, while higher values make the image brighter.

The Polaroid Go has a fixed standard lens, so for the sharpest focus make sure you don't get too close your subject, around 30 cm is the closest (perfect selfie distance) any closer and your image will be out of focus.

For the best results when creating double exposures we recommend setting your ISO to double the film's box speed to avoid over exposing your images. For instance, if you're using an ISO 400 film, change the ISO setting on your camera to 800 and expose as you would for an 800 speed film.

Set a slow shutter speed to blur the motion and achieve a double exposure effect. You may try the following speeds: ⅛, ¼, or ½. Try different speeds to see what works for you. As we previously mentioned, when the shutter speed is slow, it catches more light.

If you're running into an issue where your photos are developing dark and without detail in shadowy areas, you likely just need more light! Remember – instant cameras love light. If you are shooting indoors, most of the time ambient light alone will not be sufficient, and you need to use flash.

When attempting in-camera double exposures, you must stack your exposures. The light from your second exposure will continue to affect and darken your first exposure, so keep that in mind when setting your aperture and shutter speed. To avoid blowing out the final image, you should underexpose both shots.
